This was honestly such an awful experience. They are basically impossible to get ahold of. One time we were stuck inside the gate and couldnt get it to open and they wouldn't answer their phone for 45 miutes. Another time we went to pick up our camper and the gate wasn't working again and once again, we could not get ahold of them. There was a couple months they charged us twice and they wouldn't refund us and told us we had to take it up with our bank. The gravel was problematic, because the rain would wash it out and make a huge ditch right in front of where our camper was and it made it very difficult to take it out and put it back in. We called an asked if they could fix it (took forever to get them on the phone) and it was a few months before it was touched. Then when we had enought, trying to cancel our account was a whole new mess, they couldn't find our account no matter what, yet, we still kept getting charged. These people are not cut out to run a business.

We reserved a place to store our camper before we bought it, so on the day of pickup we'd have somewhere to put it. The day we reserved it "Sam" called and set up a pin with my husband for the gate code to get it. The day we picked up our camper we put the address into the gps and it brought us 3 miles out of the way and there was no storage unit in site. We found a gas station to pull off to and tried to call Sam on all of the numbers provided. All 3 numbers had a incomplete, sketchy voicemail. We called and called and only ever got the sketchy voice mail that said Sam would not be able to answer phone calls....this is on a Monday afternoon. So we decided to just drive up and down 431 and see if we could find it. Once we did FINALLY find it, the gate code my husband set up with "Sam" didn't work at all. He tried calling the numbers again, to no avail. My husband out of desperateness, started trying all kinds of random numbers and thanfully one of them magically worked. The storage space has huge gullys infront of the units, so be very careful trying to get into it. Our unit had a huge pile of gravel in front of it and no power like we were told, so the whole thing was a really bad experience.

Our overall experience was great! Altho I do wish the roadways was paved because when it rains we have to park in mud for several days in front of our unit...we understand tho that the facility is still under construction...other than that we are glad we chose American Storage..thank you!

This is a new facility and set up was done over the phone. Chose our unit, moved in, put a lock on it and settled over the phone. It’s gated, semi private, semi visible. They have u-haul trucks available as well. Fit our needs well.

What is the height of the storage units?

Storage units are approximately 8 feet high.

Do I need to rent a climate controlled unit?

If you have delicate items such as musical instruments, computers, pictures, or antique wood furniture, it is recommended to select a climate-controlled unit. Climate-controlled storage units protect against rust, corrosion, mold, cracking, and warping.

What’s the difference between an indoor and an outdoor unit?
An outdoor storage unit has direct access and is usually drive-up accessible. An indoor unit is located within a building.

What items can't be put in a storage unit?

Most storage facilities will not let you store firearms, perishable items, liquids, illegal drugs, flammable and hazardous materials, live animals, or plants.

Are my items insured while being in a storage unit?

You are responsible for the items you store. The storage facility's insurance protects the location that houses the storage units, not the contents of individual units. If your homeowner's insurance doesn't cover your items, the facility manager can usually help you sign up with an insurance provider.

Can I use my renters insurance for a storage unit?

Anything your renter's insurance policy covers under usual conditions will be covered in your storage unit. Usually, renter's insurance will cover items in a unit up to 10% of your policy limits, but it does not include natural disasters. However, there may be exceptions to this, so check with your insurance company to see if you're covered.

What do I need to bring with me when to rent a unit?

You will need a government-issued photo ID (driver’s license, state ID, or passport) to complete your storage unit rental agreement.

Can I access my unit anytime I want?

Most storage locations are open 365 days a year, but access hours may vary. During access hours, usually between 6 am and 10 pm seven days a week, you can access your unit using your individual gate code. During office hours, company employees are available to answer questions and provide on-site support.

How long can I rent a unit?

Most rental contracts are month-to-month agreements billed in one-month increments. No long-term lease is required unless the customer requests it.
