Moving household appliances is a special project. They are bulky and heavy, and you can't pack them in a box or simply unplug and carry them onto a moving truck. Most likely, you'll have to hire a professional moving service to get the job done. However, our guide will help you if you plan to move them yourself.
Moving Appliances

How do you check if the company you want to hire has an appropriate license? If you are moving locally, you need to check for a DOT license since most states require moving companies to obtain a DOT number.

Some professional moving companies or laborers might not tell you about all the moving fees unless you ask. Those hidden charges can break the bank. So, how can you avoid additional moving costs?
Moving Costs

If you're planning to move and have a tight budget, one of the ways to save on your moving costs is to do it yourself. Most of the time, a do-it-yourself move is definitely less expensive than hiring full-service movers or helpers. But don't underestimate how much work and how much money it entails.

The unit that I rented was found by a worker at another location. It was very welcome that he could see what was available and where and at what rate. This saved me a lot of time. The unit was clean and in good condition. The location manager was friendly and helpful. The only negative that I might add is, the unit needs better lighting. It is almost impossible to find things after sunset. I would suggest the installation of a couple of 4 foot LED tube lights, in the style of 4 foot fluorescent lights. These are very energy efficient and very reasonable in price. They are good for 50,000 hours, which means the maintenance person would not be changing bulbs. And, if the tenant left them on, they would draw far less power than the single 100 watt bulb in use now.

Like the location and the price. The area is a bit on the industrial side but that is preferable to me as there is less foot traffic around the storage unit.
