- I was in need of a last minute storage unit until I could prepare our home for the extra items I had brought home from our cabin. We are having a real rough patch as my Husband is very ill. I am mentally and physically exhausted at this point. There was only 15 min left to closing and Patty assisted me with the unit that had been reserved through the call center. I had a bit of a break down as I was overwhelmed with all of the events of the past few days. It was at that point that Patty seemed to forget it was closing time. Nothing like that here as far as I can see, so you either need to bring your own cart or hand truck, or just muscle everything into your unit.

- Richard and Jeff were both very friendly, giving great customer service. It was very easy to get the size storage unit that I needed after some questions of what I would be storing. Having packing supplies at the location helped as well since I needed packing tape. I was in and out in less than 30 min. I do wish that they would have told me that I needed a lock before getting a storage unit. I had no choice but to purchase the lock that they had at the location, which was $20. Overall, it was a smooth experience.

- The Renton Public Storage is by far superior to Kent Easthill off 256th st. The 256th St. location had excuse after excuse when I asked to have the door replaced to my unit. All they ever gave me was excuses, i.e. that they rent/lease the space from another owner who is responsible for any damage or repairs to the bldg structures, not Public Storage. I stated not my problem as I rented the space/unit/bldg area from them, not the land/bldg property owner. Nothing was ever resolved. The gals who work the property smoke in the bathroom, so it really smells bad. I would not recommend using this facility to anyone. As for the Renton location at 44th ave exit off I-405, I'm very pleased with our indoor 10x10. Property appears much better and the unit door closes and seals the unit off from the exterior as it was designed. The only thing I would gripe about is that the salespeople at all Public Storage locations try to imply through aggressive tactics, that you are obligated to show proof of or you must purchase Public Storage insurance in order to rent a unit. Not being a dummy, I questioned this after reading the contract thoroughly and was unable to find anything related to the fact new renters must have or purchase Public Storage insurance or show proof of your own insurance. These tactics may work on some people, but if this practice is kept up, I could easily see someone taking them to court and winning. Not a good practice folks. If you want more money, raise storage fees. When people get tired of that option, they will move elsewhere. My thoughts dictate that Public Storage wasn't forced into doing business as a storage facility with the public, just sayin'

- It is nice in Seattle's rainy climate to be able to drive inside to unload or pick up storage items. The carts are handy and the elevator is large. The doorways and turns are a little more narrow though. I went to my unit today for the first time. There are cobwebs and a packet of rat poison so I wonder if rats are a problem? I hope not and I certainly hope no one has food in their space to attract pests!!!
