- Everything good except price. Very expensive, more than other local storage businesses in area. However, closest to my home. Manager, David, is very informative, friendly, and helpful.

- I rented a space for my rv, which was overdue on it's registration because in order to get tagged, it needed to pass inspection, which entailed a fair amount of expensive work. The entire reason I put it in storage was because I needed a place for it to go while I got the money together to fix the things needed to pass inspection. I was told by the manager that the storage king powers that be considered it to be illegally parked, even though it was on private property and not even in view of the road. I paid my bill on time every month, and any time I go to clean it or do any work, I get nit picked and nagged by the manager. There is a rusted out truck with flat tires with tags overdue by 2 years parked there, but I couldn't have my untagged rv that I was working on parked there. Major double standard. Also, you are only allowed access to your property from 6 am to 10 pm, which is not conducive to my schedule at all, and if you sign out even 10 minutes past ten you get reprimanded. I don't know of any other storage facilities that have as many rules (most of which are arbitrary and not realistic for most situations). I do not recommend this company at all.

We provide the convenience of reserving affordable storage units online or by phone. No credit card or long-term contract is required. Consider us as your solution for finding and reserving storage facilities throughout North Carolina, including options for mini storage units and storage containers to suit a variety of needs. The cheapest storage unit in your area may not always be the best choice. Please consider the following factors when selecting a storage unit in Nags Head, North Carolina.
- Monthly rates are based on features such as 24/7 access, climate control, facility security, location, and overall demand in your area.
- For household goods, the most common storage unit sizes are 5x5, 5x10, 10x10, and 10X15. For added flexibility, some companies also offer portable mini storage units for temporary residential use that can be delivered to your property or hauled by you for on-site storage.
- Many facilities offer larger unit sizes for commercial and business storage, like 10x20 or 10x30. These sizes are ideal for storing office equipment, inventory, or business records. These sizes can also accommodate vehicles, making them a great option for car storage.
- Storage facilities with flexible leases allow you to rent on a month-to-month basis.
- The monthly rent will also depend on whether a facility offers climate-controlled units or only drive-up units. Climate-controlled units cost more than drive-up units or storage containers.
- Most locations have digital keypad access, which provides you with your personal access code. Check with the office for availability.
- Consider drive-up access for easier loading and unloading, especially for heavy or bulky items.
- Some facilities may provide extra room or rental space for public use, such as areas for organizing or handling your stored items. Contact the property manager to confirm availability.
- Check for online reviews and recommendations.
- Ask the office about the preventive security measures for safeguarding the location.
Are there free storage deals in Nags Head, North Carolina?
Many companies offer promotions for new customers, such as a free first month. Search by your zip code or distance to locate storage units that come with the first month free and other decent storage discounts. Take advantage of specials if you're a first-time renter.
How do I find the cheapest storage in Nags Head?
You can sort by price, from low to high, to find affordable options on our website. Away from the city center, you have a better chance of finding inexpensive storage solutions. The size and amenities that the facility offers also affect the monthly price.
What is the difference between an indoor and outdoor unit?
You have easy access to your unit when it is an outdoor unit. If the unit is indoors, you must first enter the building to get to it.
What is the difference between office hours and gate hours?
The property's operating hours are during office hours. The store manager will be on duty to help you with your questions. If you have questions or need help outside these hours, check for the property's phone number to reach the leasing office directly. The gate hours determine when you can enter the property and use your unit.
In Nags Head, being close to major landmarks like Jockey’s Ridge State Park or the beach greatly affects the demand for climate-controlled storage units. These units help protect items from the area’s high humidity and salty air, which can cause damage over time. Sensitive equipment, valuables, and musical instruments, for example, benefit from these specialized storage options.
Storage facilities near popular spots like Nags Head Woods Preserve or along South Croatan Highway (U.S. 158) often have higher rates because of their convenient locations and visibility. On the other hand, areas like Colington or quieter sections of Croatan Highway typically offer more affordable options, making them a good choice for long-term storage while still being reasonably accessible.
For items such as beach gear, surfboards, business inventory, or personal belongings, choosing a facility near landmarks like Jeanette’s Pier or Bodie Island Lighthouse provides both security and easy access. Many of these facilities also offer perks like 24-hour access or advanced security, designed for beachgoers and seasonal residents. Looking into these options ensures your storage choice meets your needs and location preferences.
