I called and payed by bill on the phone. 2weeks later I go to my unit and the lock was gone and so was everything in it. Then I called and was lied to and treated like crap. Yes the prices are good but they are very unprofessional and rude. I am filing a small claims suit against them. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE!

The cheapest storage unit in your local area does not always mean it is the best option for you. Please consider the following factors when selecting a storage unit in Saint Peter, Minnesota.

  • Storage unit's rates are based on a few features such as 24/7 access, climate control, facility security, location, and overall demand in your area.
  • For household goods, the most common storage unit sizes are 5x5, 5x10, 10x10, and 10X15. For added flexibility, some companies also offer portable mini storage units for temporary residential use that can be delivered to your property or hauled by you for on-site storage.
  • For commercial and business storage, many facilities offer larger unit sizes like 10x20 or 10x30, which are ideal for storing office equipment, inventory, or business records. These sizes can also accommodate vehicles, making them a great option for car storage.
  • Storage facilities with flexible leases allow you to rent on a month-to-month basis.
  • Whether a facility offers climate controlled units or only a drive up unit. That will also determine the monthly rent. Usually, storage units which are climate controlled are more expensive than drive up units or storage containers.
  • Most locations have digital keypad access, and they provide you with your own personal access code to the storage facility. Check with the office for availability.
  • Consider drive-up storage units for convenient loading and unloading, especially when storing heavy or bulky items.
  • Some facilities may provide extra room or rental space for public use, such as areas for organizing or handling your stored items. Reach out to the property manager to confirm availability.
  • Check for online reviews and recommendations.
  • Ask the office about the preventive security measures for safeguarding the location.

What is the difference between an indoor and outdoor unit?

You have easy access to your unit when it is an outdoor unit. If the unit is indoors, you must first enter the building to get to it.

What is the difference between office hours and gate hours?

The property's operating hours are during office hours. The store manager will be on duty during these times to help you with your storage questions. If you have questions or need help outside these hours, check for the property's phone number to reach the leasing office directly. The gate hours determine when you can enter the property and use your unit.

Many storage facilities in St. Peter are conveniently located near key spots like the Gustavus Adolphus College campus. These facilities serve students who need storage during summer breaks, study abroad trips, or semester changes. Local businesses also use them for temporary inventory storage. Facilities along Highway 169 are easily accessible for residents of nearby towns like Kasota and Traverse, making them popular for both personal and business storage.

Storage unit prices in the area depend on factors like location near high-demand spots. For example, units close to the Nicollet County Historical Society or Minnesota Square Park often cost more due to their central locations, convenient for both locals and visitors. Seasonal events, like local festivals or college move-in and move-out periods, can also impact pricing.

Storage facilities in St. Peter, especially those near Jefferson Park, often offer climate-controlled units to handle the area’s weather extremes. These are popular with people storing delicate items like antiques, electronics, or important documents. Some facilities also focus on sustainability by using solar panels or energy-efficient insulation, reflecting Minnesota’s push for eco-friendly practices.
