Melody was kind, helpful, honest, and just really pleasant to deal with. At that point in my life I had just moved back from NYC and things were very hectic. Now, 12 years later, in booking a unit for storage after another cross-country move from the West Coast I was pleasantly surprised to find that familiar voice on the end of the line. It was like speaking to a family member. Melody even remembered me! She helped my family secure the right size unit, recommended some good items to keep damp out, and made yet another cross country move much less stressful. Having rented units all over the country Melody stands out among storage facility personnel. She's my angel of storage, and because of that I won't go anywhere else.

- I recently rented storage at Life Storage because I am buying a house in a town many miles south of the Twin Cities. I am in the process of clearing out my present home to ready it to be on the market. I have a lot of stuff after living here 40 years, and no time for yard sales and all that, so we are packing me up, donating a lot, trashing some and storing the remainder at Life Storage. PJ is very helpful in choosing the right size for me, and completing the paperwork in no time flat. They were patient with me trying out the lock to be sure I knew how it worked, and explained the gate code very carefully. They also helped with the purchase of some packing materials that I hadn't seen anywhere else, such as cartons for mirrors and glass-framed large pictures. The facility is climate-controlled which is a great feature, clean and neat, with good signage, multiple carts. The doors and walls are in great shape, no dents or rust was visible. The distance from my present home is less than 2 miles, so that is a big plus, security is top-notch, and even going there alone invokes no fear on my part.

- This is what you call your "Common" CON ARTIST! They are ever so pleasant when you check in- and there move in/ first few months specials are great... BUT WAIT- once your hit with their HUGE jump in price- so you suck it up and then go to move out- WATCH THE 10 DAY TERMINATION rule!!! They will get you- so you pay with your card- they had our notice we were 5 days shy of the 10 day rule- ok I get it so PRORATE the price- BUT NOPE they charged us a FULL MONTHS RENT- caused havoc on our account- They TOLD us when we handed in our termination notice that we were to take off our locks- BUT we still had 5 of the 10 days paid for- and here is the kicker- they will HOLD YOUR REFUND HOSTAGE something they could fix so easily they make so hard- we were told we would receive a PAPER check in the MAIL in 10-14 BUISNESS DAYS that means they would hold our money for almost a month!!!! BULL CRAP these people are CROOKS!!! BEWARE !!!!!

- I like the location because it's close to where I will be temporarily living. The employees and property manager that I dealt with are very nice. Melody is very helpful and responsive. A few negatives: The personnel didn't tell me up front that there is an additional charge per month for insurance. Also, their cylinder locks cost $20, and you pretty much have to buy one. The entrance gate and entry code post need to get fixed.
