- Mid January I reserved a 10 x 10 unit at the Champlin facility understanding that with the 25% discount I would be paying about $58.00 for the first 3 months. It turns out I was required to pay $67.00 instead (after the 25% deal). I paid up front the first 3 months but, in all honesty, cannot recommend this to anyone at this point. I suspected the individual helping me (Danny), a non-management/floater individual was a little confused too. After going back into seeing what was available online, a $77.00 10 X 10 space was in fact available. This looks like a process formally referred to as a "bait and switch" operation. It would be nice to talk to a manager about why this is happening. I am a repeat customer and currently rent 2 other 5 x 5 spaces. Very disappointed in Acorn at this point. The whole point of making the reservation was to lock in the advertised price.

- We spent one hour and 45 minutes trying to get into our unit because we were given the wrong instructions in our email and spent Over an hour and 20 minutes on the phone trying to figure out what we were supposed to do with Customer service and nobody could help us. The customer service department was unaware of the second app that we were supposed to download which was not in our email instructions and that’s how we eventually figured it out and got in so horrible horrible horrible customer service for a company that says you’re a five star rated company

Forced to buy a 20 dollar lock and 15 bucks a month insurance when the unit itself is priced fantastically at 17 bucks a month, its like eating a buzzkill bread sammach with it looked great before the very end of the process and paperwork.. meat. Its still the best price out there without much of a close second but leaves me waiting for the next gotcha and the one after that and so on so fourth.

- I think the storage site is safe with good hours. What I didin't like is how the price changes daily. I don't think that is good practice. The storage sites under the tunnels are not set up well as you can't get a truck right up to the door. So you are stuck walking all your things to the end of the tunnel. So although you think it is nice to move under the protection of the tunnel, it is the biggest pain!! We were exhausted after moving because you can't park a truck close enough. VERY inconvenient.

- The on-site employees are great, if you can reach them. There is a phone forwarding system that makes it difficult to reach a particular site, and it’s becoming increasingly difficult to find someone in the office because corporate is cutting their hours. The reservation system is a mess, many available sites aren’t available online. The system lets you “reserve” a space 4 weeks in advance, but doesn’t actually reserve anything, it just locks in a price, because everything is first come first serve. The system will cancel the reservation after 3 weeks, potentially leaving you without a spot and with the employees unable to honor the original price.
