- I moved into Uncle Bob's storage facility last Sunday. When I arrived at the facility with my movers (who I was paying $165/hour), the elevator code I was provided did not work and I was unable to access my storage unit on the second floor. I called the 1-800 number Uncle Bob's provided and the person I spoke with told me she would file a report and someone would get in touch with me ASAP. I explained that I had movers with me and needed access to the building that night. No one called me back, so I moved my items into an unoccupied storage unt on the first floor that was the identical size to the the 2nd floor storage unit. The next day, someone from Uncle Bob's called me to tell me I had to either pay $169/month for the 1st floor storage unit (rather than the $119/month I agreed to pay for the 2nd floor unit) or move my belongings to the second floor. I told them that they hadn't kept their end of the bargain and the two options were either (1) they pay for movers to move my items to the storage unit on the second floor or (2) I keep my items in the 1st floor storage unit and pay $119. They refused and threatened to evict me from the storage facility. So not only did I incur extra costs when my movers and I could not access the second floor where my assigned storage unit was located, but now they are forcing me to pay more than the agreed-upon $119/month for a storage unit. I therefore would never use this storage facility again and would not recommend it to a friend or relative.
