- I have had a great experience in renting a unit for safely storing my personal belongings at Public Storage in Oldsmar. First, making a reservation was so easy using their website. The site answered the majority of my questions, listed what sizes were available, and I was able to book my space, at a reduced price as I was booking on-line. On my first visit, the gentleman, Todd, at the desk assured me that all was sanitized, showed me the unit....super clean...and all areas looking almost brand new. He shared that they had full 24/7 security, with alarms on each unit, and cameras around the premises. I was also pleased that we were both wearing masks -- a Covid, precaution. - Self storage by my house is close and convienant,my one concern is that i was never told about the extras until i was signing the contract.I shouldn't have to pay almost 8.00 dollars for a container of damp rid when i could have gotten one for 3.00 less.I was never told about hurricane insurance another 15.00 dollars a month until i was about to sign the contract.Why should you have to pay hurricane insurance for a year when you really only need it for 6 months.The initial quote was not what i am paying and i am a little disturbed by that.It's partially my fault because i could have renaged at anytime but i didn't, i should have read the contract.

- Only have a part-time manager. Units do not feel secure as the walls between initial on have 1/2" drywall and all 3 units I viewed have big areas of sheetrock ripped open, so they obviously are not maintaining the facility. They way over billed me for the initial charge and don't prorated until the 2nd billing. Only positive I see is being able to open the gate from their app.
