- Happy with cube smart so far. Archie the rep that helped me is amazing. Kind, friendly knowledgeable and willing to help. Only negative comment is when you put the paper inside the unit telling me it has been cleaned, make sure it really is clean. We had something yucky in our unit on the floor and it became smooshy and slippery when our wet shoes from the rain lossened the gunk up. But thanks to Archie, he brought out some cardboard to put on top of it so we wouldn't slip anymore. BTW, treat Archie right. He is a valuable person for you.

Finding and renting self-storage facilities in Citra, Florida is now easier through MoversCorp. Compare options and rent storage near you with just a few clicks. We provide the convenience of reserving affordable storage units online or by phone. No credit card or long-term contract is required. Consider us as your solution for finding and reserving storage facilities throughout Florida, including options for mini storage units and storage containers to suit a variety of needs. The cheapest storage unit in your area may not always be the best choice. Please consider the following factors when selecting a storage unit in Citra, Florida.
- Monthly rates are based on features such as 24/7 access, climate control, facility security, location, and overall demand in your area.
- For household goods, the most common storage unit sizes are 5x5, 5x10, 10x10, and 10X15. For added flexibility, some companies also offer portable mini storage units for rent for temporary residential use that can be delivered to your property or hauled by you for on-site storage.
- Many facilities offer larger unit sizes for commercial and business storage, like 10x20 or 10x30. These sizes are ideal for storing office equipment, inventory, or business records. These sizes can also accommodate vehicles, making them a great option for car storage.
- Most storage facilities require insurance for stored items. If you don’t have your own policy, you may need to buy one through the facility, adding about $15 to $50 to your storage rental cost each month. Some places also charge a refundable deposit or an administrative fee when you move in. Always ask about these costs and refund conditions before signing a lease.
- Storage facilities with flexible leases allow you to rent on a month-to-month basis. Be aware that storage unit price increases are common. Many customers say their rates go up after a few months, sometimes more than once a year. Since storage rentals are month-to-month, facilities can raise prices with proper notice. Ask about potential rate increases before committing to a unit.
- The monthly rent will also depend on whether a facility offers climate-controlled units or only drive-up units. Climate-controlled units cost more than drive-up units or storage containers.
- Most locations have digital keypad access, which provides you with your personal access code. Check with the office for availability.
- Consider drive-up access for easier loading and unloading, especially for heavy or bulky items.
- Some facilities may provide extra room or rental space for public use, such as areas for organizing or handling your stored items. Contact the property manager to confirm availability.
- Check for online reviews and recommendations.
- Ask the office about the preventive security measures for safeguarding the location.
Are there free storage deals in Citra, Florida?
Many companies offer promotions for new customers, such as a free first month. Search by your zip code or distance to locate cheap storage units that come with the first month free and other decent storage discounts. Take advantage of specials if you're a first-time renter.
How do I find the cheapest storage in Citra?
You can sort by price, from low to high, to find affordable options on our website. Away from the city center, you have a better chance of finding inexpensive storage rental solutions. The facility's size and amenities affect the monthly price.
What is the difference between an indoor and outdoor unit?
You have easy access to your unit when it is an outdoor unit. If the unit is indoors, you must first enter the building to get to it.
What is the difference between office hours and gate hours?
The property's operating hours are during office hours. The store manager will be on duty to help you with your questions. If you have questions or need help outside these hours, look up the property's phone number to contact the leasing office directly. The gate hours determine when you can enter the property and use your unit.
Looking at storage facilities farther from central Citra or in nearby towns like Orange Springs often reveals cheaper options. Because of lower demand, storage facilities in these areas may offer more competitive and flexible prices, especially for larger units or long-term rentals. If you need multiple units, some facilities in outlying areas may offer bulk discounts or multi-unit rates to reduce overall costs.
With Citra’s frequent rain showers, choosing the right type of unit is essential. Indoor units protect against moisture and are best for sensitive items like electronics, documents, or furniture that could be damaged by humidity or mud. Outdoor units offer easy access and are best for larger, durable items like sports equipment, tools, or seasonal gear that you might need regularly.
For more affordable options, consider looking in towns like Island Grove or Fort McCoy, where storage facilities often have lower rates because of less demand than in central Citra. Also, these towns sometimes have locally owned facilities that offer personalized services like 24-hour access, which adds convenience and flexibility for renters.
