- Nice facility. Troubled with all the pesky rules and penalties seemed to trip up customers.
I mean, no garbage cans, but will levy $500 for littering? That is disturbing.
Minimal insurance pricing by unit size instead of customer's decided value of the insured also seems grabby to me.
This is the one I find the most troubling. Must use the mobile app to access the facility and by extension my unit. What if there is a dysfunction in communication or connectivity issues or a simple device defect or loss, then no access?

- On September 14th we received an email from Public Storage starting out, "As we notified you on August 31, 2020, the storage facility located at 20565 Valley Green Drive, where your goods are currently stored, is undergoing a renovation project than will begin on October 1, 2020." It continues on to tell us to ... transfer your goods to a new storage space later than September 30, 2020."
We did not receive any notification on August 31, 2020 from Public Storage either by email, postal mail or by phone call. We did receive emails from Public Storage on August 12th (monthly storage invoice) and September 2nd ("Your Payment Receipt # 871388272), but nothing on August 31st.
We were given only 15 days to find storage space at a different facility when all of the other renters were given 31 days (assuming they received the 9/31/20 Notice). As a consequence, we found that there were zero storage units available at all of the facilities within a reasonable driving distance.
As a tech exec that has worked for the best user experience companies in the world, Apple, Intel, and Nokia, I say to you that your management decision process is deeply flawed. If, in mid-July there was even a 50-50% chance that this renovation project would start on September 1st, then PS management should have directed Marketing to alert customers to that possibility. Giving Finance greater power in decision making over the customer notification strategy than Marketing/Customer Service puts PS squarely in the company of those who only give lip service to user experience.
The only reason I gave PS a poor rating and not bad was because your customer service has done a phenomenal job at helping people find storage units at other PS sites. I rate Customer Service firefighting (pulling PS bacon out of the fire) a Great, and it would be even better if they enthusiastically found units for displaced customers at all storage companies rather than just PS sites.

- As I walked into my local Public storage, I was greeted with a smile. An employee is an extension of his/hers company. Either you feel welcome or you turn around and leave. Not that case here at Public Storage. That is the main reason, other than knowing my stuff is safe and secure, that I store there!

- I made a reservation online for a storage unit on a Wednesday for the following Saturday. Someone called me almost immediately to set up a time for me to go in and sign the contract. I made it for the next day, Thursday. I had initially spoke to someone over the phone but it was cheaper if you reserved online. I wasn't told until I had to sign the contract that you are required to add insurance to your rental. They charged $19 for one of their locks. They also charge a $22 administrative fee. The bonus is the $1 first months rent. I wanted to start my contract on Saturday but since I went in on Thursday, that was the day it started and so do the charges. I thought the storage grounds could have been cleaner. There were a lot of leaves around the property and I was told they do sweep. For as much as they charge I think it could be cleaner. I've heard that the storage units get a lot of dust in them.

- It just wasn't really explained that the lock would be in the unit already (may just be my bad), but when I called to ask about it, nobody answered the phone even though it was well within their office hours.

Find a Storage Unit For Rent Near You
Public Storage 12299 Saratoga Sunnyvale Rd, Saratoga, CA 95070 408-849-4012
Finding and renting self-storage facilities in Saratoga, California is now easier through MoversCorp. Compare options and rent storage near you with just a few clicks. We provide the convenience of reserving affordable storage units online or by phone. No credit card or long-term contract is required. Consider us as your solution for finding and reserving storage facilities throughout California, including options for mini storage units and storage containers to suit a variety of needs. The cheapest storage unit in your area may not always be the best choice. Please consider the following factors when selecting a storage unit in Saratoga, California.
- Monthly rates are based on features such as 24/7 access, climate control, facility security, location, and overall demand in your area.
- For household goods, the most common storage unit sizes are 5x5, 5x10, 10x10, and 10X15. For added flexibility, some companies also offer portable mini storage units for rent for temporary residential use that can be delivered to your property or hauled by you for on-site storage.
- Many facilities offer larger unit sizes for commercial and business storage, like 10x20 or 10x30. These sizes are ideal for storing office equipment, inventory, or business records. These sizes can also accommodate vehicles, making them a great option for car storage.
- Most storage facilities require insurance for stored items. If you don’t have your own policy, you may need to buy one through the facility, adding about $15 to $50 to your storage rental cost each month. Some places also charge a refundable deposit or an administrative fee when you move in. Always ask about these costs and refund conditions before signing a lease.
- Storage facilities with flexible leases allow you to rent on a month-to-month basis. Be aware that storage unit price increases are common. Many customers say their rates go up after a few months, sometimes more than once a year. Since storage rentals are month-to-month, facilities can raise prices with proper notice. Ask about potential rate increases before committing to a unit.
- The monthly rent will also depend on whether a facility offers climate-controlled units or only drive-up units. Climate-controlled units cost more than drive-up units or storage containers.
- Most locations have digital keypad access, which provides you with your personal access code. Check with the office for availability.
- Consider drive-up access for easier loading and unloading, especially for heavy or bulky items.
- Some facilities may provide extra room or rental space for public use, such as areas for organizing or handling your stored items. Contact the property manager to confirm availability.
- Check for online reviews and recommendations.
- Ask the office about the preventive security measures for safeguarding the location.
Are there free storage deals in Saratoga, California?
Many companies offer promotions for new customers, such as a free first month. Search by your zip code or distance to locate cheap storage units that come with the first month free and other decent storage discounts. Take advantage of specials if you're a first-time renter.
How do I find the cheapest storage in Saratoga?
You can sort by price, from low to high, to find affordable options on our website. Away from the city center, you have a better chance of finding inexpensive storage rental solutions. The facility's size and amenities affect the monthly price.
What is the difference between an indoor and outdoor unit?
You have easy access to your unit when it is an outdoor unit. If the unit is indoors, you must first enter the building to get to it.
What is the difference between office hours and gate hours?
The property's operating hours are during office hours. The store manager will be on duty to help you with your questions. If you have questions or need help outside these hours, look up the property's phone number to contact the leasing office directly. The gate hours determine when you can enter the property and use your unit.
