- I've had several public storage units in the past and this is the best customer service I have ever had. Cliff was really really helpful and had excellent advice regarding the type of storage unit and etc. He spent a lot of time making sure i understood everything. He never too pushy or didn't make me feel rushed. I had only came in there to get information and look at some pricing. I didn't even purchase a storage that day but he still have excellent service! Would definitely come back in the future.

- As with anywhere, there are cons in addition to pros, this place is no exception. Minimal parking on the outside of entrance gate, weird angle to drive through exit gate, and I only seen one elevator, at least near my unit, and was a small one at that, capacity-wise, as it could only fit one cart. The carts are free from locks to use, as soon as you walk in the building, equidistant to entrance and elevator. Good lighting, slightly uneven floors, so dont stack carts too high or wide. Tyler was very pleasant to work with, which helped immensely to neutralize cons of this place.

- When looking for temporary storage for my travel trailer, I got lucky. My first call was tp Personal Storage in Newark, CA because it was close to my sisters home. From the assistance I received on the phone to the walk-through at the rental lot, the customer service was first-rate. Professional and courteous service has become rare but was present in every aspect of my experience with Personal Storage. The physical property was in outstanding condition and well-secured. I couldn't be happier.

- This facility, in particular, is run by a true professional, Anna - really enjoyed working with her. Update to my original review: Be aware that homeless people have code access to this facility. I've personally seen the same man enter the facility several times at 6 am and occupy the restroom for a considerable amount of time, so it would stand to reason that a facility with dozens of security cameras would be able to pick up on this pattern and somehow prevent it... yet they haven't (it also makes sense why the first unit on the first floor has a damaged locking mechanism. My advice would be to find a facility in a better neighborhood (I'd do that, but it's too much of a hassle to move an apartment's worth of items before ultimately moving to Oregon in 2 months).

Finding and renting self-storage facilities in San Mateo, California is now easier through MoversCorp. Compare options and rent storage near you with just a few clicks. We provide the convenience of reserving affordable storage units online or by phone. No credit card or long-term contract is required. Consider us as your solution for finding and reserving storage facilities throughout California, including options for mini storage units and storage containers to suit a variety of needs. The cheapest storage unit in your area may not always be the best choice. Please consider the following factors when selecting a storage unit in San Mateo, California.
- Monthly rates are based on features such as 24/7 access, climate control, facility security, location, and overall demand in your area.
- For household goods, the most common storage unit sizes are 5x5, 5x10, 10x10, and 10X15. For added flexibility, some companies also offer portable mini storage units for rent for temporary residential use that can be delivered to your property or hauled by you for on-site storage.
- Many facilities offer larger unit sizes for commercial and business storage, like 10x20 or 10x30. These sizes are ideal for storing office equipment, inventory, or business records. These sizes can also accommodate vehicles, making them a great option for car storage.
- Most storage facilities require insurance for stored items. If you don’t have your own policy, you may need to buy one through the facility, adding about $15 to $50 to your storage rental cost each month. Some places also charge a refundable deposit or an administrative fee when you move in. Always ask about these costs and refund conditions before signing a lease.
- Storage facilities with flexible leases allow you to rent on a month-to-month basis. Be aware that storage unit price increases are common. Many customers say their rates go up after a few months, sometimes more than once a year. Since storage rentals are month-to-month, facilities can raise prices with proper notice. Ask about potential rate increases before committing to a unit.
- The monthly rent will also depend on whether a facility offers climate-controlled units or only drive-up units. Climate-controlled units cost more than drive-up units or storage containers.
- Most locations have digital keypad access, which provides you with your personal access code. Check with the office for availability.
- Consider drive-up access for easier loading and unloading, especially for heavy or bulky items.
- Some facilities may provide extra room or rental space for public use, such as areas for organizing or handling your stored items. Contact the property manager to confirm availability.
- Check for online reviews and recommendations.
- Ask the office about the preventive security measures for safeguarding the location.
Are there free storage deals in San Mateo, California?
Many companies offer promotions for new customers, such as a free first month. Search by your zip code or distance to locate cheap storage units that come with the first month free and other decent storage discounts. Take advantage of specials if you're a first-time renter.
How do I find the cheapest storage in San Mateo?
You can sort by price, from low to high, to find affordable options on our website. Away from the city center, you have a better chance of finding inexpensive storage rental solutions. The facility's size and amenities affect the monthly price.
What is the difference between an indoor and outdoor unit?
You have easy access to your unit when it is an outdoor unit. If the unit is indoors, you must first enter the building to get to it.
What is the difference between office hours and gate hours?
The property's operating hours are during office hours. The store manager will be on duty to help you with your questions. If you have questions or need help outside these hours, look up the property's phone number to contact the leasing office directly. The gate hours determine when you can enter the property and use your unit.
