- I reserved a unit at Trojan storage a few weeks in advance and received confirmation more than once that the unit was ready for me to move in, but when I arrived with a POD full of my belongings, I was told the unit I reserved was not available. The assistant manager told me she had a unit that was smaller that I could rent, or a unit upstairs. Now my reservation was for a ground unit, climate controlled, and 10 x 15. I needed a ground floor unit as I had a lot of heavy furniture, but as the truck was in the driveway I had no alternative but to take the upstairs unit or pay for the truck to take my things back, then pay to have it sent out to another location, and pay for another month storage at 2x the cost. Just moving in to Trojan's cost me double because of the distance to get to the unit itself, i.e. through two doors and an elevator and down two long hallways. Some of the items moved were heavy furniture that had to be carried all the way to the unit. Someone from Trojan did call me, but offered no remedy, and then my phone lost connection. I am frustrated as it is not what I wanted and does not suit my needs, plus not being climate controlled could damage some of my belongings. Not Happy! It is also going to cost me double to move out because of the additional time taken in moving the items. I reserved a premium unit and received the total opposite. Because of the added expense I have given the lowest rating; otherwise it would be good and lowest on customer service because my reservation was not fulfilled. I have learned a lesson to get the unit well before move in to be sure this doesn't happen again.
