- Just got this storage. Excellent customer service, good value for your money. Clean and reachable, close to freeway. Was looking for short term storage, but I can keep it longer. They provide a free one time pickup, and have a restroom on site. They give directions to future clients, and current clients who need help getting there. Great attitude combined with excellent customer service.

- I am a single woman in my early 20’s renting a unit at this facility. My unit is indoors on the second floor of a long, mostly unlit hallway. I often drop off my items alone and expected a certain level of security which was not present. Upon arriving to my unit this past Monday evening, there were no cars in the facility but mine. I loaded my things into the lift to transfer to my unit and my biggest fear came to life. There was a tall, middle aged white man lurking in the long hallway as I entered the second floor of the building. He immediately began to slowly approach me, asking me if I wanted to see the jewelry and accessories he had in his unit. When I said no thank you, he continued to approach. I ran of out the building, leaving all of my things in the lift. I waited in my car for another customer to drive up and was lucky enough to encounter a kind man who escorted me to my unit to protect me from the man in the hallway. He continued to try to offer me things and approach even with the escort. It became obvious as we walked past his unit that he was living there or using it as a partial living space. I was able to finish my load but am dreading having to return. Extra space has NO 24 hour security, NO security phone number to call after hours, and obviously NO regulations over what someone can use the space for. There should not be a man living in a unit in the building, especially not one who is a threat to the safety and security of customers, especially other young women like myself. INCREDIBLY disappointed with this facility.

- After a morning driving around town to checkout several storage facilities, we chose this Public Storage for price and size, secure gated-access, and Tamika--who did such an amazing job setting us up with the best available unit at the best price. She was courteous and had all of the answers we needed! Thank you!!

- I have a storage unit at this facility and have for over a year. Twice I have visited the storage unit and there has been no employees at the front desk during business hours. Nor was there a sign placed in the window to indicate they would be back. The last time this happened I left my phone in the unit and was unable to access the unit. But since staff left the facility early no one was able to assist me with entering the unit floor. The price seems reasonable compared to other units but the lack of customer service is not worth the dollars you think you save. Plus the prices keep increasing.

- I came in a couple weeks ago to pay a bill and the manager name Teila was very helpful. My storage is in another state and she went through all the necessary steps to find my account and help get my bill paid. I also had fees that I didn't understand and she helped explain them to me. I initially forgot to do this review for her but she crossed my mind so I hope she knows that I did appreciate her excellent customer service.

- I was looking for a small storage unit to keep things in for a while. The extra space storage had the best location, price and wide selection of options. You could have an outside drive up or inside climate controlled unit. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I highly recomend this facility for your storage needs.

Finding and renting self-storage facilities in Mill Valley, California is now easier through MoversCorp. Compare options and rent storage near you with just a few clicks. We provide the convenience of reserving affordable storage units online or by phone. No credit card or long-term contract is required. Consider us as your solution for finding and reserving storage facilities throughout California, including options for mini storage units and storage containers to suit a variety of needs.
The cheapest storage unit in your area may not always be the best choice. Please consider the following factors when selecting a storage unit in Mill Valley, California.
- Monthly rates are based on features such as 24/7 access, climate control, facility security, location, and overall demand in your area.
- For household goods, the most common storage unit sizes are 5x5, 5x10, 10x10, and 10X15. For added flexibility, some companies also offer portable mini storage units for rent for temporary residential use that can be delivered to your property or hauled by you for on-site storage.
- Many facilities offer larger unit sizes for commercial and business storage, like 10x20 or 10x30. These sizes are ideal for storing office equipment, inventory, or business records. These sizes can also accommodate vehicles, making them a great option for car storage.
- Most storage facilities require insurance for stored items. If you don’t have your own policy, you may need to buy one through the facility, adding about $15 to $50 to your storage rental cost each month. Some places also charge a refundable deposit or an administrative fee when you move in. Always ask about these costs and refund conditions before signing a lease.
- Storage facilities with flexible leases allow you to rent on a month-to-month basis. Be aware that storage unit price increases are common. Many customers say their rates go up after a few months, sometimes more than once a year. Since storage rentals are month-to-month, facilities can raise prices with proper notice. Ask about potential rate increases before committing to a unit.
- The monthly rent will also depend on whether a facility offers climate-controlled units or only drive-up units. Climate-controlled units cost more than drive-up units or storage containers.
- Most locations have digital keypad access, which provides you with your personal access code. Check with the office for availability.
- Consider drive-up access for easier loading and unloading, especially for heavy or bulky items.
- Some facilities may provide extra room or rental space for public use, such as areas for organizing or handling your stored items. Contact the property manager to confirm availability.
- Check for online reviews and recommendations.
- Ask the office about the preventive security measures for safeguarding the location.
Are there free storage deals in Mill Valley, California?
Many companies offer promotions for new customers, such as a free first month. Search by your zip code or distance to locate cheap storage units that come with the first month free and other decent storage discounts. Take advantage of specials if you're a first-time renter.
How do I find the cheapest storage in Mill Valley?
You can sort by price, from low to high, to find affordable options on our website. Away from the city center, you have a better chance of finding inexpensive storage rental solutions. The facility's size and amenities affect the monthly price.
What is the difference between an indoor and outdoor unit?
You have easy access to your unit when it is an outdoor unit. If the unit is indoors, you must first enter the building to get to it.
What is the difference between office hours and gate hours?
The property's operating hours are during office hours. The store manager will be on duty to help you with your questions. If you have questions or need help outside these hours, look up the property's phone number to contact the leasing office directly. The gate hours determine when you can enter the property and use your unit.
Facilities near neighborhoods like Tam Valley and Strawberry Village are convenient because they’re close to homes and businesses. These spots are popular, so it’s smart to book early. For cheaper options, check out units near Tamalpais Junction or on the edges of Corte Madera, where prices are lower and availability is better.
Portable mini-storage units are a flexible choice for storing personal items, seasonal goods, or small furniture. They can be delivered to homes in areas like Tamalpais Valley or Homestead Valley, offering convenient on-site storage. This is especially helpful for homeowners doing renovations or needing short-term storage.
Facilities along Shoreline Highway (Highway 1) work well for bulky items like kayaks, bicycles, or camping gear. With so many outdoor enthusiasts nearby, these facilities often provide features like strong shelves, climate control, and 24/7 access for easy gear pickup. Some locations even offer extras like parking for trailers or are close to popular spots like Muir Woods and Stinson Beach, making storage and access easier.
