- Customer service just doesn’t exist. No maintenance. Potential roof leaks:
First, they told us the light was out in our unit prior to renting it to us, and that they "weren't allowed to change it". They suggested we use a flashlight! It was 10 feet or less off the ground. A one-step stool, box or chair could reach it!
On my SECOND visit, they got very aggressive and confrontational because I didn't know how to open the vehicle gate to get out. We were never told that a code was needed for the exit as well. On our first visit it just opened when we pulled up, so we thought it sensed your car. The keypad is 50 plus feet from the gate, so not obvious.
After I was stranded inside for 15 minutes and then they argued with me for 5 more minutes, I asked for our contract. It was supposed to be emailed to us when we signed up, but that didn't happen. They refused to email it again, then after all my wasted time they said: "We can't give you your contract today because we just punched out. Come back again". You were open 2 minutes ago arguing with me and this is my SECOND time here!
I complained about this to the national support number and was told we would hear back from the store manager and the district manager. A month passed before we got a call from the district manager. The district manager was intelligent and respectful.
When we picked up our Contract, the clerk was so dismissive that she didn't let us ask any questions. While we waited, she actually picked up a personal phone call and ignored us.
Once again, the bulb was out and we had to change it ourselves. We also discovered while moving our items that they were wet from a possible roof leak.
Each time we've had to interact with them since, they've been dismissive and aggressive, particularly the manager.
I'm going to assume she just has a personal problem with my family because we complained, but she could just have an unpleasant and unprofessional disposition.

- It was my first time using a storage room and I am glad I went to public storage. It was a pleasant experience. Carlos, the office clerk/management was very nice and knowledgeable. A very friendly and excellent customer service. He offered us a very nice offer within our budget which helps me and my brother a lot. The place was great and secured. I have nothing to complain for. We will be definitely coming back if we need a storage again. Thank you.

- These guys (gals) were really helpful. I needed door to be a certain size and they went out an measured it for me. I lost a metal bracket for the lock, they gave me one. I was able to set my payments to automatic deduct. The location is decent, and the space is safe and clean. Rows are a bit narrow so if someone is parked, it is difficult to get by (have to go around) but this is my only complaint. Lowest prices between the 5 storage in the area. The company SpareFoot is a great rep for the company.

- While I adore the manager Stacey, her professionalism and the ease of renting there, I did not care at all for the man who works there. The one who said he wouldn't give me the cart unless I gave him my driver's license. He did not specify that he'd be keeping it in his hand while also holding a clip board and papers and showing the property to potential renters. I find this unprofessional with such an important piece of identification. After all, you already have everything in my file short of my fingerprints and my first born child. I was also right in front near the gate in full view of the office. When he said "I need to see your ID" I thought he meant he would write down my CDL# and hand it back. When I asked him where he was going with it, he said he couldn't let me have the cart if I didn't let him keep it. A little bit more professionalism please! A very disappointing incident!

Finding and renting self-storage facilities in Martinez, California is now easier through MoversCorp. Compare options and rent storage near you with just a few clicks. We provide the convenience of reserving affordable storage units online or by phone. No credit card or long-term contract is required. Consider us as your solution for finding and reserving storage facilities throughout California, including options for mini storage units and storage containers to suit a variety of needs. The cheapest storage unit in your area may not always be the best choice. Please consider the following factors when selecting a storage unit in Martinez, California.
- Monthly rates are based on features such as 24/7 access, climate control, facility security, location, and overall demand in your area.
- For household goods, the most common storage unit sizes are 5x5, 5x10, 10x10, and 10X15. For added flexibility, some companies also offer portable mini storage units for rent for temporary residential use that can be delivered to your property or hauled by you for on-site storage.
- Many facilities offer larger unit sizes for commercial and business storage, like 10x20 or 10x30. These sizes are ideal for storing office equipment, inventory, or business records. These sizes can also accommodate vehicles, making them a great option for car storage.
- Most storage facilities require insurance for stored items. If you don’t have your own policy, you may need to buy one through the facility, adding about $15 to $50 to your storage rental cost each month. Some places also charge a refundable deposit or an administrative fee when you move in. Always ask about these costs and refund conditions before signing a lease.
- Storage facilities with flexible leases allow you to rent on a month-to-month basis. Be aware that storage unit price increases are common. Many customers say their rates go up after a few months, sometimes more than once a year. Since storage rentals are month-to-month, facilities can raise prices with proper notice. Ask about potential rate increases before committing to a unit.
- The monthly rent will also depend on whether a facility offers climate-controlled units or only drive-up units. Climate-controlled units cost more than drive-up units or storage containers.
- Most locations have digital keypad access, which provides you with your personal access code. Check with the office for availability.
- Consider drive-up access for easier loading and unloading, especially for heavy or bulky items.
- Some facilities may provide extra room or rental space for public use, such as areas for organizing or handling your stored items. Contact the property manager to confirm availability.
- Check for online reviews and recommendations.
- Ask the office about the preventive security measures for safeguarding the location.
Are there free storage deals in Martinez, California?
Many companies offer promotions for new customers, such as a free first month. Search by your zip code or distance to locate cheap storage units that come with the first month free and other decent storage discounts. Take advantage of specials if you're a first-time renter.
How do I find the cheapest storage in Martinez?
You can sort by price, from low to high, to find affordable options on our website. Away from the city center, you have a better chance of finding inexpensive storage rental solutions. The facility's size and amenities affect the monthly price.
What is the difference between an indoor and outdoor unit?
You have easy access to your unit when it is an outdoor unit. If the unit is indoors, you must first enter the building to get to it.
What is the difference between office hours and gate hours?
The property's operating hours are during office hours. The store manager will be on duty to help you with your questions. If you have questions or need help outside these hours, look up the property's phone number to contact the leasing office directly. The gate hours determine when you can enter the property and use your unit.
