- Our experience has been great since our first call to Public Storage at 1987 Old Middlefield Way, Mountain View, CA. The person who answered the phone provided all the information I needed to make a decision. He was very friendly and helpful. Then we went to look at the facility in person. Everything was clean and well kept. It was very easy. We were moving from our current location to this much closer location to our business. Umer is the person that we worked with to get us set up and rent a unit. He has been super anytime we had a question. And was great when we let him know we needed to rent a 2nd unit. Great experience. great service. and most of all friendly staff at this location. Thanks Umer for all your support during our transition!

- When I signed up for a space via your website it was not clear that I had to purchase a lock from your facilities and that this was custom made for you. It was also not clear that you would raise the rent every year by 15%. Kinda disappointing. I do understand that you need to cover costs but 15% year-to-year is a bit on the high side.

- The reservation process and notifications prior to move-in all went well. However, when filling out the paperwork he insisted that we had to carry the insurance even though we confirmed that our homeowners insurance covers it and I had the declaration page. He said that we had to pay for insurance on the unit or couldn't rent. So, we agreed since we had to move in that day. Then that night I read the fine print in the contract and you absolutely do NOT have to buy their insurance or any other. I called to get the insurance removed and the first month insurance charge credited back to my account and was told that they wouldn't be able to credit me and can only change the account in person. I live in another state and was only in town to move into storage for one day. Also, when we saw the 5x10 unit we knew we didn't need that much space so requested a 5x5 unit instead which were available. However, the same guy said that it wouldn't make sense because the rate we got on the 5x10 unit was less than the 5x5 rate so we stayed with that unit and moved in. Then I go home that night and search online and find that this was also not true. There were 5x5 units available to rent at that facility for $18 less per month. Finally, they really push buying moving supplies in the store. He really pushed buying more than 10 boxes to get the quantity discount with the assurance that you could return them for a full refund on anything we didn't end up using. So we did, but guess what? We didn't need half of the boxes and went in to return them and get a refund and got attitude and the total hassle. I had to be very insistant just to get my refund on unused boxes. All around bad taste in my mouth and now I am having to spend endless hours calling the local storage facility, Public Storage central customer service, etc. just to get their employee errors corrected and set my account straight.

- My move-in went relatively smoothly. Would definitely recommend making sure you have their app downloaded, get familiar with it so you can navigate which access points you are using, and make sure your phone is charged so you don’t get locked out. One negative thing I experienced was being charged 3 times for the admin fee. Not sure if it was a mistake or what happened. I work a lot so calling to fix it during their business hours has been a hassle for me. Pay attention to the charges before you walk out. Aside from that, everything else is pretty smooth and I’m happy with this place.

- Kept items in a storage unit there for just over a year until I moved into an apt suitable for all my belongings. This was my first experience ever having to rent a storage unit so I having nothing to compare my experience to, but I imagine that my stay at this location with Ed & Jenny will be very very hard to top! No issues in my storage unit at all; didnt see any insects or have any foul smells. The facility is in great shape and I felt secure with my belongings there especially with Ed & Jenny keeping an eye on the property at all times. They truly care about their customers needs and seem to establish great relationships with everyone there.I looked forward to going there from time to time because of them, and anyone i went there with also felt the same way :)

- Everything is OK! The only reason why i rated 4 stars is the price of the lock being sold! I think it's quite expensive! Also, your online pricing is quite deceiving! You should at least put that the price is exclusive of Admin cost, tax and insurance! You are marketing it only to be $1 on the first month and yet after those costs the total becomes almost the indicated price already!! That's NOT a good marketing strategy!
