- I was really happy with Kevin at the second location. Buchannan Circle. He was beyond helpful and friendly and knew that I was frustrated with the other location. I had made my reservation early in the week to come on Saturday. I asked to come as early as possible because I had several appointments I had to leave for. I was told 11Am was the earliest even though they open at 9:30. When I called back I spoke with someone else who said I could come at 10AM instead. I was told they had flooding at the location and she would be checking my unit Friday and would call me to let me know if there were any issues with the unit. When I arrived on Saturday, They were very friendly- However They were not able to get their lock off the unit. So it was not checked to see if flooding had affected it and now I was not able to get a storage at this location because they didn't have any other units this size. I was extremely frustrated with the lack of planning and follow up. Especially because I had made it clear that I had other appointments and needed to be as quick as possible. Then had to drive to another location and get it figured out. Like I said at the beginning- Kevin was amazing. Helpful, Kind and quick!!! And I am beyond thankful for that because I know I walked in with a bad attitude.

- Customer service just doesn’t exist. No maintenance. Potential roof leaks: First, they told us the light was out in our unit prior to renting it to us, and that they "weren't allowed to change it". They suggested we use a flashlight! It was 10 feet or less off the ground. A one-step stool, box or chair could reach it! On my SECOND visit, they got very aggressive and confrontational because I didn't know how to open the vehicle gate to get out. We were never told that a code was needed for the exit as well. On our first visit it just opened when we pulled up, so we thought it sensed your car. The keypad is 50 plus feet from the gate, so not obvious. After I was stranded inside for 15 minutes and then they argued with me for 5 more minutes, I asked for our contract. It was supposed to be emailed to us when we signed up, but that didn't happen. They refused to email it again, then after all my wasted time they said: "We can't give you your contract today because we just punched out. Come back again". You were open 2 minutes ago arguing with me and this is my SECOND time here! I complained about this to the national support number and was told we would hear back from the store manager and the district manager. A month passed before we got a call from the district manager. The district manager was intelligent and respectful. When we picked up our Contract, the clerk was so dismissive that she didn't let us ask any questions. While we waited, she actually picked up a personal phone call and ignored us. Once again, the bulb was out and we had to change it ourselves. We also discovered while moving our items that they were wet from a possible roof leak. Each time we've had to interact with them since, they've been dismissive and aggressive, particularly the manager. I'm going to assume she just has a personal problem with my family because we complained, but she could just have an unpleasant and unprofessional disposition.

- My past storage rental facility, Public Storage of Walnut Creek, just kept raising and raising my fees. What was first $271 per month, went to $388 per month, finally ended at $475 per month! Although the onsite manager was very nice and helpful, their facility was easily burglarized on dozens of occasions including my space in Nov. 2018. Now about Storage Quest. They are allowing me to pay 12 months in advance, thereby locking in the rental fee. The manager, Cynthia, was really nice and helpful. My space is slightly more difficult to get to, but the cost and location far outweigh this issue. The parking and loading area are a little small with room for only 8 vehicles at a time. They ask you to get-in and get-out to help with this, which I will always try to do. So far, so good. I am so happy to be done with Public Storage.

- I'd spoken with David by phone to postpone by one day my arrival. He was very polite & professional. Got to the Benicia facility the next afternoon sans helpers -- with a 26' truck. My helpers had petered out. One other just couldn't make it. Anyhow, the two men in the office, including David, were very helpful in expeditiously getting signed up & into a large unit. They even tried to locate some help for me (they are not permitted to help people with loading/unloading.). I would recommend this facility, which is at the end of the 1st exit on northbound I680 after crossing the Carquinez Bridge, to everyone.
