I rented a 10x18 but that is not what I arrived to find. It is a triangular shaped storage which made it exceedingly difficult to modularly pack my things in. I feel like I was scammed but with the movers there with my things on a Sunday and a plane ticket the next day I didn’t have time to wait for another unit.

I had a great time visiting this Extra Space Storage for the first time. The staff were hilarious and very welcoming. I felt like a part of the family almost immediately. The storage unit itself was clean and the door worked smoothly and closed properly. I also like the app. It’s really convenient to be able to get the gate code or pay my bill that way, rather than having to go in or sign in every time I go to their website. The two things I don’t really care for are as follows; I’m not a fan of the gate locking us in at 10:00pm (at least that’s what we were told), it makes for a very stressful time trying to get unloaded when you feel like an axe is hanging over your head. Next is the cost of the insurance on the unit. My unit costs about $45.00/month, but the insurance is around $35.00/month. It’s nearly the same price as the entire unit! Too pricey for sure.

This is the nicest storage unit facility I've ever used. The unit was new and clean. The registration process was quick and easy. They had a great deal for 50% off for the first two months. Also, the free pickup was something no other place offered. Very convenient.

I needed to store my belongings and furniture for the summer because I was spending my summer out of town, and my apartment leases didn't overlap in time. Most storage spaces in Berkeley have mixed reviews that are pretty hit or miss, but I decided to gamble with the Public Storage on Harrison Street. I don't know why they received bad reviews because Public Storage had everything I needed without any fuss. All my belongings were safe and secure, the storage space was clean, and everything was in its place when I returned 3 months later to pick it up. Would definitely recommend!

It was really easy to sign up, choose a unit, set up a time to move in, and actually move. The staff at this location are really friendly and helpful! When I arrived, they worked with me to find the best unit. In the end, I went with the one I originally chose, but it was awesome that they tried to help me save money. I also got confirmation/reminder calls, which was helpful. The facility itself is well managed. There's plenty of equipment and parking. Made the process much less stressful.

Finding and renting self-storage facilities in Emeryville, California is now easier through MoversCorp. Compare options and rent storage near you with just a few clicks. We provide the convenience of reserving affordable storage units online or by phone. No credit card or long-term contract is required. Consider us as your solution for finding and reserving storage facilities throughout California, including options for mini storage units and storage containers to suit a variety of needs.

The cheapest storage unit in your area may not always be the best choice. Please consider the following factors when selecting a storage unit in Emeryville, California.

  • Monthly rates are based on features such as 24/7 access, climate control, facility security, location, and overall demand in your area.

  • For household goods, the most common storage unit sizes are 5x5, 5x10, 10x10, and 10X15. For added flexibility, some companies also offer portable mini storage units for rent for temporary residential use that can be delivered to your property or hauled by you for on-site storage.

  • Many facilities offer larger unit sizes for commercial and business storage, like 10x20 or 10x30. These sizes are ideal for storing office equipment, inventory, or business records. These sizes can also accommodate vehicles, making them a great option for car storage.

  • Most storage facilities require insurance for stored items. If you don’t have your own policy, you may need to buy one through the facility, adding about $15 to $50 to your storage rental cost each month. Some places also charge a refundable deposit or an administrative fee when you move in. Always ask about these costs and refund conditions before signing a lease.

  • Storage facilities with flexible leases allow you to rent on a month-to-month basis. Be aware that storage unit price increases are common. Many customers say their rates go up after a few months, sometimes more than once a year. Since storage rentals are month-to-month, facilities can raise prices with proper notice. Ask about potential rate increases before committing to a unit.

  • The monthly rent will also depend on whether a facility offers climate-controlled units or only drive-up units. Climate-controlled units cost more than drive-up units or storage containers.

  • Most locations have digital keypad access, which provides you with your personal access code. Check with the office for availability.
  • Consider drive-up access for easier loading and unloading, especially for heavy or bulky items.

  • Some facilities may provide extra room or rental space for public use, such as areas for organizing or handling your stored items. Contact the property manager to confirm availability.

  • Check for online reviews and recommendations.

  • Ask the office about the preventive security measures for safeguarding the location.

What is the difference between an indoor and outdoor unit?

You have easy access to your unit when it is an outdoor unit. If the unit is indoors, you must first enter the building to get to it.

What is the difference between office hours and gate hours?

The property's operating hours are during office hours. The store manager will be on duty to help you with your questions. If you have questions or need help outside these hours, look up the property's phone number to contact the leasing office directly. The gate hours determine when you can enter the property and use your unit.
